Many countries have recently seen a rise in demand for Islamic banking services, causing the sector to experience international expansion. In response, the MSc/ PG Dip Islamic Finance has been developed for those working in the finance and insurance industries who want to gain an understanding of this specialist area of expertise. It is also for those who aspire to pursue a career in these industries and for those who wish to pursue further academic study.
The course aims to develop an understanding of Islamic moral and ethical issues in relation to finance and insurance, and how this is applied in practice. It explores the inter-relationships between Islamic and conventional finance, regulation and reporting.
Uniquely, the course draws on the expertise of academics from both Middlesex University Business School and the Islamic College, with lectures and sessions taking place at both locations.
