Modern Irish. University of Ulster

This programme provides an academically rigorous and professionally-based course of study of modern Irish in contemporary professional contexts.

At its core is intensive linguistic study. This is complemented by study of the discourse of contemporary Irish, including literature, media, film, language planning and immersion education. It has been specifically designed to meet the growing demand from companies and organisations in the education, media and the public sectors for people who can display a mastery of specialised knowledge and skills in modern Irish. Accordingly, emphasis is placed on an advanced level of competence in oral and written language as well as a highly developed conceptual understanding of the subject.
