This programme started in 2000. Explicitly intended to integrate theory and practice, we meet a gap in current academic provision for practitioners of lobbying and public affairs. The course reflects the growing local, national and international recognition of the fundamental role of the public affairs and lobbying industry as a bridge between government and the corporate environment (business, trade associations and the voluntary sector). The programme takes public affairs to the area of corporate strategy at which lobbying and public relations intersect: essentially how organisations can formulate corporate policies which seek to manage issues of public policy and then go on to implement those policies by persuasively communicating with government, partners and the public.
